KW-20 / Belafonte
Doctrine: Cruiser
Role: Glide-Optimized Soft-Wave Platform
Status: Soft-Wave Deployment
Description
Belafonte is a wide-tailed long-range trim craft designed for small surf, slow points, and days when the ocean offers motion without urgency.
Generous planing area, stable volume distribution, and low-resistance rocker allow the board to enter waves early and sustain glide across flat or fading sections where shorter or narrower platforms lose continuity.
Rather than emphasizing maneuverability, Belafonte prioritizes calm forward travel and extended trim—translating subtle weight shifts into smooth line adjustments while preserving speed with minimal effort.
The ride favors patience, positioning, and relaxed pacing over forceful direction changes.
When conditions soften further, the craft remains composed, continuing to generate usable distance from limited energy.
Sessions often become longer, quieter, and less concerned with performance metrics.
Operators frequently report a gradual shift toward unhurried rhythm and observational awareness of the water around them.
Extended use may reduce interest in rushing.
