KW-61 / Gray Market
Doctrine: Low Visibility
Role: Unregistered Compact Velocity Platform
Status: Active Service
Description
Gray Market is a compact twin-fin platform operating outside conventional small-wave expectations.
Forward-biased planing surface, parallel midline, and controlled fish-tail release generate immediate lift relative to overall length, allowing the craft to engage waves earlier than its dimensions suggest.
A single concave under the chest produces accelerated entry and forward drive, transitioning into subtle V through the fin cluster to maintain release and rail-to-rail fluidity without destabilizing projection. The flat deck increases paddle stability while preserving a responsive, low-profile feel underfoot.
Field observations indicate rapid trim acquisition in short-period beach-break conditions. Once engaged high on the face, the craft sustains lateral speed with minimal operator input, converting compact outline and twin stabilization into quiet forward carry rather than abrupt acceleration.
The swallow tail enhances hold during directional load while preserving clean release through transitions, preventing speed collapse in tightening sections. Motion remains deliberate but unannounced—
present, functional, and slightly beyond what the surface conditions appear to justify.
Session data reports increased wave capture, reduced fatigue, and sustained projection across sections typically classified as transitional or expendable.
Operational behavior remains consistent across weak-to-moderate surf with confined terrain.
Configuration:

Twin fin
Single concave under chest → V through fins
Soft 60/40 rails forward → low down rail with defined tail edge
Flat deck blending into rail
