KW-X / Specter

Doctrine: Interceptor
Role: Low-Drag Hull Interceptor
Status: Limited Deployment

Description

Specter is a compact convex-hull pursuit craft developed for precise trim and quiet speed in clean, fast-forming surf.
Minimal drag through the entry, continuous curvature beneath the rider, and controlled release behind the fin cluster allow the board to settle into motion early and hold a narrow, efficient line as the wave steepens.

Unlike flatter interceptors that rely on projection and pump-driven speed, Specter prefers stillness and positioning—generating forward drive through trim accuracy rather than force.
When placed correctly, it maintains pace with remarkably little visible effort, often feeling as though the board is moving slightly ahead of operator input.

Directional changes occur through subtle weight shifts and rail engagement rather than abrupt redirection, rewarding calm stance and attentive line choice.
In turbulent or indecisive surf, performance becomes less predictable, which is why deployment remains limited.

Operators describe the sensation as quiet, fast, and faintly unreal
as if the board is following a line that was already there.

Configuration:
Compact convex hull
Single fin
Soft 50/50 rails forward → neutral release tail
Rolled entry → convex hull
Low rocker
Domed deck
